17th May EASTER V: 10:00 a.m. Western Rite Terce sung at the Saint Aldhelm Chapel in Saint Dunstan's Parish Church, Saint Osmond's Road, Poole, BH12 9JG followed at 10:30 by the Liturgy of the Antiochian Orthodox Church.

Wednesday 20th May: 5:30 p.m. Vespers of the Ascension of Our Lord at Saint Dunstan's Parish Church, Poole.

Thursday 21st May: The Ascension of Our Lord: Western Rite Terce Propers

24th May: SUNDAY AFTER ASCENSION: 10:00 a.m. Western Rite Terce sung at the Saint Aldhelm Chapel in Saint Dunstan's Parish Church, Saint Osmond's Road, Poole, BH12 9JG followed at 10:30 by the Sixth Hour service and Typica led by Reader David of the Antiochian Orthodox Church.

Unfortunately, because of health reasons, we have had to cancel our scheduled pilgrimage to Saint David's original hermitage. We apologise for the lateness of the notice. Please pray for the recovery of the family members concerned.

Cancelled: 30th May: THE VIGIL OF PENTECOST: at around 6:00 p.m. The Six Prophecies and the Litany of the Saints followed by Mass of the Vigil of Pentecost at Saint Michael's church, Michaelchurch, Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, HR2 8LD.

Cancelled: 31st May: PENTECOST: 10:30 a.m. Western Rite Terce followed by the Saint Gregory the Great Liturgy at Saint David's old church at Llanthony in Wales NP7 7NN. Further details about the location can be seen at this link.

In spite of the services having been cancelled, one of Father Thomas's parishioners did manage to reach Saint David's church:

A Prayer to Saint Aldhelm

Thou didst set the lamp of Orthodoxy alight amid the gloom of the dark night of thy times, O blessed Aldhelm, favourite of Christ; wherefore thou dwellest now in everlasting light, where thou prayest that our souls be saved.

Thy radiant and God-pleasing countenance sheddeth light on all the English lands, O blessed Aldhelm our father; for spurning thy royal rank and all worldly pursuits, thou didst eagerly seek the true knowledge of God, and having devoted thy life to prayer and the ascetic struggle, thou has been vouchsafed to behold the Unapproachable One. Him do thou ever beseech, O hierarch of Christ, that in His mercy He save our souls. Amen.
